The Poverty ManifestoSubmitted by Jennifer Vail-Storrs on September 14, 2012 - 1:52pm
If you were wondering what was going on downtown at Central School yesterday afternoon I have the answer. Circles of Support hosted The Poverty Manifesto. A community picnic complete with hotdogs, burgers and iced tea was served. Along with a presentation – Ten lies about poverty that America can no longer afford, From Poverty to Prosperity: 12 Poverty-Changing Ideas, Advocating for the Poor: Community Speakers. The Raging Grannies were also on hand. A volunteer with Circles of Support videotaped the presentation. You can look for this program to be cablecast in the coming weeks on ICTV, your local public access television station.
