    Another basic move of a camera is a tilt. It is usually used to capture an up or down motion or objects extending beyond the vertical scope of the camera. Tilting is a cinematographic technique in which the camera is stationary and rotates in a vertical plane (or tilting plane). A rotation in a horizontal plane is known as panning. The event titled, “Global Challenges and Foreign Policy in 2012,” featured speaker Tom Hanson from the Minnesota International Center. Mr. Hanson is also a former career Foreign Service Officer. He was there to talk about international foreign policy, and discuss our current global issues.     The Grand Rapids Area Library’s Community Room was filled with people on Thursday, March 29. They were gathered there to hear speaker Kevin Proescholdt talk about the importance of wilderness. After an introduction by Bill Berg, Mr. Proescholdt talked about what wilderness is, and listed many of the reasons it is important for us to protect it.
