On Monday, I filmed the August Chamber of Commerce Luncheon. The featured speakers for the program were Itasca County Sherriff Vic Williams, Grand Rapids Chief of Police Jim Denny, Deputy Bob LeClair and Deputy Jared Morse. LeClair and Morse brought along K-9 dogs Sarge and Lambo, both German shepherds. It was an extremely interesting presentation that these four gentlemen (and two dogs) put on, covering crime statistics, call volumes, procedures, traffic stops, the history of the K-9 dogs and how they’re used, as well as programs that the Itasca County Sherriff’s Office and the Grand Rapids Police Department are involved with. Pretty much everything about our public safety was covered during this presentation! To catch the first airing of this program, tune into ICTV channel 7/37 this Thursday night at 9:30!
