It drives people north.  It gets northerners back outside.  It is peak color season, and I can tell you it isn't far away.  I got the opportunity to traverse south from Marcel to Grand Rapids Sunday.  The reds began peaking out from the ditches, the yellows were dancing in the sun.  By next Saturday, it will be full color.  If the preview is a hint, it won't be a season of super bright colors, but a subdued showing of soft shades.  I was tempted to stop and shoot the splendor starting about Kremer Lake but the post Highway 38 garage salers had the road much too busy.  Don't sit inside this week or you may miss the colors.
