Where do you keep 72 lumbermen? The Bunkhouse! If you weren't eating, working, or relieving yourself in the outhouse, then you were probably in the bunkhouse. It wasn't pleasant, but it was warmer than the outside. Given that lumberjacks worked from sunrise to sunset, and at the latitude of Grand Rapids, this daylight was minimal, more time was spent here than working, so some men would wear aprons when dancing the female part, while others would play a banjo or other instrument for entertainment.
